To create and organize multiple desktops and workspaces in TradeStation, follow the steps below. This is useful if you want different setups for different monitors or trading styles.
1. Open TradeStation Desktop:
- Launch the TradeStation Desktop application on your computer.
2. Create a New Desktop:
- Go to the top menu and click File > Desktops > New Desktop.
- A blank new desktop will open.
3. Load an Existing Workspace:
- In the new desktop, go to File > Workspaces > Open Workspace…
- Choose a workspace that has the charts, indicators, or tools you want to reuse.
4. Save the Workspace with a New Name:
- Once the workspace opens, go to File > Workspaces > Save Workspace As…
- Give it a new name so it doesn’t overwrite the original.
5. Save the Desktop with a New Name:
- Now go to File > Desktops > Save Desktop As…
- Give this new desktop a unique name too.
6. Repeat for Additional Desktops (If you want more desktops):
- Go to File > Desktops > New Desktop, then
- Repeat steps 3–5 to open a workspace, rename it, and save the desktop under a new name.
7. Customize and Organize:
- You can move each desktop to a different monitor.
- Update the charts with the symbols you want for each setup.
8. Save All Changes:
- Once everything is set up, go to File > Workspaces > Save All Workspaces
- Then go to File > Desktops > Save All Desktops
This ensures all your changes are saved and ready the next time you open TradeStation.
